Based in the challenging areas where our clients are situated, Lakama successfully delivers food to all the sites at 100% of ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) on a daily basis.




When all sites are at peak operation, Lakama delivers 5 200 lunch boxes per day at any given time, meals per day, which amounts to 36 700 lunch meals per week, including those of various dietary requirements as requested by our clients’ workforce, including those according to religious specifications. Lakama therefore makes up to 7 000 meals every day, including breakfast, lunch and supper.




The meals are also categorised according to the workforce, namely:

Unskilled – Labourers
Semi-skilled – Artisans
Skilled – Supervisors
Upper Management

Safety and Health Regulations

As health regulations are very important within the catering industry, it is a direct regulation which is intensely monitored. We have introduced an innovativel Just-In-Time method for fresh produce to be used on the day, in order to save storage space and maintain quality and freshness. Commodities such as meat and perishable products are bought and sold on the same day. It is a very sensitive task, as stock has to be on hand ahead of demand, and is achieved through efficient stock control and monitoring where experience, once again, plays a vital role.

Lakama has also been awarded up to 93.4% for Health and Safety grading within the Power Station Safety Standards, which articulates the extent of experience Lakama has in this regard, whether operational or administrative.

Within all our operational sites we believe we have exceeded the requirements demanded by clients by expanding product lines in the form of food as well as convenience products.

Functional Services

Apart from our accommodated clients, Lakama also caters for functions and ceremonies as well as additional day-to-day catering for our guests at all the camps and sites. Lakama has a healthy relationship with Governmental bodies and departments and regularly exceeds their expectations when catering for their various functions. Lakama has catered for major ceremonial events, comprising events up to 5 000 people at any occasion.
